For hunters and anglers · All 50 states

Every license and tag. One phone. No signal needed.

Sportsmen Ledger keeps your licenses, tags, harvests and hunter ed card together, ready to show a warden in the field.

The iPhone app is on the way, in sixteen languages. Your first license copy is free.

The home screen

Six tiles. Everything is one tap from home.

This is the app’s own home screen. Each tile below opens the part of this site that describes it.

What it does

Built for the truck, the stand and the river bank

Everything opens from one home screen and works where your phone has no bars.

Wallet

Licenses and tags

Keep a copy of every license with its number, term, zone and expiry. You get a heads-up before one runs out.

Officer view

Show a warden

One tap opens a high-contrast screen with the license, your ID and the zone map. Big type, works offline.

Harvest log

Log the take

Record species, method, date and zone against the license it came off. The app refuses a take that license doesn’t cover, and says why.

Tag closeout

Report on time

Open tags stay at the top with a checklist that sends you to the state’s own reporting channel. Nothing is filed for you.

Zones + pins

Know your ground

Live unit boundaries in 35 states, BLM public land, and stands, cameras and camp spots saved in any coordinate format your GPS speaks.

State laws

Rules by animal

Blaze orange, legal hours, baiting and tagging rules for every state, plus what’s open, closed or drawn. Each rule names its source.

Family

Add a young hunter

Kids under 16 live on a parent’s account with a consent step, and their licenses sit in your wallet.

Trophy room

Your wall

Every harvest lands on a wall of 207 species plates, with a count beside each and milestones as the log grows.

SOS

Help, fast

An SOS strip on every screen opens 911, your coordinates and your trip plan, and tells you plainly when it needs a signal.

How it works

Your copy. The state’s license.

  • We never sell you a license. You buy from the state, on the state’s own site, at the state’s price. Sportsmen Ledger holds your copy.
  • Nothing is sent to an agency. Tag closeout is a checklist that points you to the official channel. Nothing is filed on your behalf.
  • Your data stays yours. No account needed. If you make one, your wallet is locked on your phone with your password before it is saved, and nobody else can open it.
  • Carry the original where the state requires it. Some states still require the official app or paper, and most don’t accept a digital tag. The app shows the rule for the 8 states we’ve verified so far and marks the rest unverified, so you know to check.

Our mission

Safe in the field. Licensed without the runaround. Standing with veterans.

Sportsmen Ledger is built for the people who hunt and fish, and it stands for three things.

Hunter and angler safety

We are advocates for hunter education and safe fishing. The app keeps your hunter education card with your licenses, puts an emergency button one tap from home, and lays out each state’s rules so you can read them before you go, not after.

The right license, fast

Finding out which license you need should not take an afternoon. Sportsmen Ledger takes you straight to the official state store for the license you want, then keeps your copy on your phone once you have it. The state issues the license and takes the fee; we make getting there quick and simple.

Standing with veterans

Sportsmen Ledger stands with veterans. We support and donate to organizations that help veterans living with PTSD and at risk of suicide. Our founder gives personally, works with veterans through existing programs, and is building a program and facility of his own to help veterans recover.

If you are a veteran in crisis

Call 988 and press 1, text 838255, or chat at VeteransCrisisLine.net. Someone answers 24 hours a day, every day. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

Questions

Before you head out

Is a copy in this app a legal license?

No. It is your personal copy. Some states accept a digital license and many do not accept a digital tag. Where we have verified a state’s rule the app shows it; everywhere else it says unverified, and the state’s own regulations decide.

Does it work without cell service?

Yes. Once it is on your phone, your licenses, the officer view, all fifty states of law and your harvest log open with the phone in airplane mode. Weather and live map boundaries need a connection at the moment you pull them.

Can I buy my license through the app?

No, and that is on purpose. Every buy button opens the state agency’s own site, with the address shown before you go. The app never touches your license fee.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Your wallet lives only on the phone, so take a backup. It is one encrypted file, locked with a passphrase you choose. Restore it on the new phone. We never hold the passphrase and cannot recover it for you.

Is it in my language?

Very likely. The app and this website can be read in sixteen languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Arabic, French, Korean, Russian, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, German, Greek, Hindi, Japanese and Italian. You pick one on the very first screen of the app. Where law or competition rules are translated, the English text is the official one.

Who can use it?

Anyone 16 or over holds their own wallet. Younger hunters and anglers are added to a parent’s wallet, with a consent step that gates the hunting side.
